As a forester, social scientist, creative problem solver, and university lecturer I take a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to supporting rural and Indigenous communities, NGOs, government, and the private sector facing climate change, land-use planning, forest management, and sustainability-related challenges.
Ongoing and past projects include participatory development of criteria and indicators to support monitoring and conservation of Indigenous values affected by cumulative industrial impacts across forest landscapes in western Canada; research and discussion papers for government agencies; and social and biodiversity impact evaluation for rural community development initiatives, forest management & conservation (including REDD+) in South America & Caribbean, Centra Africa, and along Canada’s west coast.
I welcome questions, engagement, and new opportunities to support values-driven projects, programs and policy initiatives.
